If the range of local activities in Châtel and the Abondance valley are not enough - don't forget we are just over the border from Switzerland and many of their finest family attractions are within easy reach of the Chalet by car. All have ample parking and refreshment facilities. Here are just a few of the nearest:- All Steamed up at Le Swiss Vapeur Parc Ride on one of the worlds largest model railway systems operating real steam miniature locomotives around a vast track network with viaducts, tunnels and a vast suspension bridge. Wet and Wild at Aqua Parc Just around the corner from the Le Swiss Vapeur Parc you will find Aqua Parc which offers an immense range of water slides, spa pools a lazy river and outdoor fun for all the family all on the shores of Lake Geneva. In hot water at Thermalp (picture above) A sumptuous leisure complex in a stunning location. Hot spring waters allow you to enjoy an outdoor swim all year long. Get lost in Labyrinthe Aventure (picture above) A great place to let the older kids loose. Not just a maze but a hole host of trails and challenges for energetic youngsters Out of this world at Fun Planet Another great place for kids to burn themselves out - but beware they will want to come back. Fancy a steamer trip on Lake Geneva with www.cgn.ch For a more leisurely pace or romantic evening out CGN steamers operate from ports all around this vast lake, offering a wide variety of short and long trips. Just remember the camera and suntan lotion. You can settle for a short out and back hop, or sign up for a full day long round the lake circuit calling at famous ports along the way. If you fancy dining, dancing and sailing off into the setting sun then try one of their regular evening dining cruises, but you will need a warm top once the sun goes down. Still not enough? Further afield you will find glacier skiing, casinos, castles and awesome mountain railways a plenty. You will find leaflets on these and many other attractions in the club lounge, with many available at a discount.
